Underlining its ongoing commitment to support women’s empowerment across the Kingdom, Bank al Etihad hosted Women’s Entrepreneurship Day (WED) 2015 at Columbia University Middle East Research Center. The event was attended by around 100 entrepreneurs and businesswomen, in addition to a host of local media representatives. It was held as part of a series of events organized in 144 countries and 111 universities and educational institutions worldwide, celebrating women’s entrepreneurship.
The Bank al Etihad event featured a direct live stream of the activities organized for this occasion at the United Nations Headquarters in the United States of America, in addition to interactive sessions on a number of topics, most important of which were Women Who Paved the Way, Access to Finance, Women in Untraditional Jobs, Work-Life Balance, and Social Entrepreneurship.
WED is an initiative that remains active throughout the year in support of female entrepreneurs on every continent, in order to empower them and support their businesses. The initiative also aims at gathering a think tank of women leaders, which will ultimately create an amplified merged message to expand businesses with social initiatives in communities locally and globally.
